Real estate tax audit as a service
We offer a real estate tax audit service to identify errors and better valuation methods.
Our service is aimed at real estate owners with, for example, factories, production plants, warehouses, offices or other large buildings or complexes.
Real estate tax is a tax usually paid by the owner of the real estate unit, the amount of which is determined by the characteristics of the property. Tax levels in many larger Finnish cities have risen in recent years, which means that businesses are paying more and more taxes.
If there are errors in the information on which the tax is based or if the valuation method used is incorrect, the tax will be incorrectly calculated each year. These errors can often have a significant impact on the outcome.
Why is it worth auditing the real estate tax?
Savings
Correcting errors can lead to significant tax refunds. You can apply for an adjustment for up to five previous years, and a successful property tax adjustment process will result in a reduced tax rate for future years.
Risk-free
We operate on a performance fee basis, so if no refunds are received, the service is free of charge. The property tax audit service is therefore risk-free for the client.
Convenience
To get started with your real estate tax audit, we will obtain the necessary building information on the buildings owned by your company. From then on, we’ll take care of everything for you.
How does the real estate tax audit work in practice?
After obtaining the necessary technical data on the buildings owned by the client, we ensure the correct level of property taxation, compare the results of different valuation methods and prepare a report on the taxable value of the property.
If the taxable values are higher than legally required, we will initiate an adjustment and appeal process on behalf of the client. Our process includes, where appropriate, all stages of appeal from the Assessment Adjustment Board to the Supreme Administrative Court.
At best, the audit will lead to significant tax refunds, and the resulting report can also be used to fulfil the taxpayer’s own initiative reporting obligation.
